Around the summer of 2023, I tried the HiBy R6 PRO II, which looked unconventional and, dare I say, unique compared to anything else I’d tried up to that point. The only three cons I had with it were a lower power output, less impressive dynamics with desktop headphones, and a shorter battery life than usual, especially via the balanced output. A year and a half later, these guys came up with this beast, the R6 PRO MAX, which aims to solve every single con I just mentioned while retaining the same gorgeous design. The price went up to $999; it’s now thicker and heavier, but it’s still quite pocketable and easy to carry around.
