Greetings everyone! With the introduction of digital-to-analog converters combined with headphone amplifiers, audio manufacturers started calling them All-in-One devices. As time passed, additional features have been added like preamp outputs and Bluetooth capabilities, further increasing their feature set. However, an external source was still needed to feed their internal DAC sections such as a PC/Mac or smartphone. FiiO recognized this and even consulted me privately on the features that I would like to see in such a unit and of course, Roon integration, an offline and online music player, steaming and app support were some of my top priorities. After a year of development, the unit that we have been asking for was ready to hit the shelves. FiiO R7 is finally here and let’s take a closer look at what makes it so special!
