NEW FLAGSHIP MATERIAL FROM EVERSOLO: the DMP-A10 – bigger, better?

Dear reader, you know that saying: “Eversolo makes good enough streamers for an affordable price?” Well, let’s change our perspective a little bit: they’ve just announced the new DMP-A10, a beast that takes the old DMP-A8 and puts it on steroids, now with a display included in the volume knob, big radiators on each side of the case, SFP fiber port and, finally, a premium remote control. You see, dear reader, these are all flagship nuances that carries Eversolo to the high-end audio realm. Could this be possible? Can the DMP-A10 be the ultimate high-end streamer we have all been waiting for? Let’s dive in and analyze.

First of all, let’s clarify what the Eversolo DMP-A10 is. I think we could say that it is a digital-all-in-one source, isn’t it? The DMP-A10 is a streamer, a DAC, a DDC, and a fully balanced pre-amplifier with R2R volume control. A lot of functions indeed!

Let’s start with its design. As you can see from the pictures, the new DMP-A10 looks amazing, and, if the previous DMP-A6 and DMP-A8 already looked great, this new DMP-A10 looks groundbreaking in comparison. I will start with its volume control knob that features a round display; this one can be customized to show different functions. Besides this, the whole case is a big step up from the previous Eversolo models, featuring some big radiators on the sides, high attention to detail and bigger in size compared to DMP-A8 – the new DMP-A10 measures 388x248x90mm and weighs 10 kg. The touchscreen display is slightly bigger that the DMP-A8, having a 6.5” diagonal compared to the previous 6”. Also, a big step up is at the remote chapter, the new one is very different from the one we all know:

Under the hood, the DMP-A10 allows the installation of two M.2 SSD drives, and the operating system is still the renown one that we all love, but still no Roon Ready certification yet. The DMP-A10 has an ESS DAC built around the ESS9039PRO chipset, all held together by two linear power supplies. Inside the DMP-A10 there are two ultra-high-precision OCXO clock oscillators for flawless signal processing, these being the masterpieces inside the new DMP-A10.

In terms of connectivity, the new Eversolo DMP-A10 stands even higher than its predecessor, the DMP-A8, having a SFP fiber port and dual subwoofer connection. Besides that, it has digital output ports: USB-isolated, optical and coaxial, in terms of digital inputs it has eARC, two coaxial ports, a USB port and two optical SPDIFs. It has also two RCA analog inputs and one XLR balanced input. In terms of analog outputs, it features RCA and XLR balanced outputs.

So, as you can see, the new DMP-A10 certainly features some hot new improvements that we would love to check out as soon as possible. So, is this DMP-A10 a step in the realm of high-end audio for Eversolo? Well, without hearing it, we cannot really say. But, for certain the price of the new Eversolo DMP-A10 is a step in the high-end direction, being retailed at $3680.
