About a year ago I told you a story about FiiO’s K9 PRO, which at that time felt like a giant killer unit performance wise. Coming at $850, only a few were ready to shelve that amount of cash, on top of that an anti-MQA movement could be seen on the horizon. Shortly after people started begging for a simpler version at a more attractive price and a year later, FiiO came out with this puppy which no longer boasts MQA capabilities, the power went down by a little bit, lower grade DAC chips have been used as well, going with a much more attractive price of $500. A lot of you are still wondering if it’s a good buy or not, so let’s find that out together.
