Storgaard & Vestskov Frida: British Racing Edition

Last year at the Warsaw Show, we saw the talented speakers from Storgaard & Vestskov. We were so impressed by both their appearance and sound quality that we felt compelled to award them our Editor’s Choice Award and include a report about them in our Show Report.
A few days back, we got a press release from Storgaard & Vestskov about an imminent release – Frida, the smallest of the siblings in brand new, triumphant Aston Martin colors, a tribute to the British motorsport, the British Racing Edition model. Just look at it! A truly Formula 1 pedigree in performance and amazing finishing. Here is the press release that got our attention fully:

Born from a Love of Motorsport
At Storgaard & Vestskov, we believe true passion leads to extraordinary creations. For our founders, Casper Vestskov Poulsen and Kim Storgaard, cars have always been more than just a mode of transport—they’re an obsession. Especially Formula 1.
Earlier this year, they found themselves deep in conversation about the Aston Martin Valkyrie. That moment sparked an idea: What if we created a design inspired by the legacy of British motorsport?

Introducing Frida: British Racing Edition
A one-of-one, hand-painted loudspeaker. Finished in Aston Martin-inspired Podium Green with a striking pinstripe accent, it’s a true in-house creation, crafted with the same precision and dedication as motorsport itself.
Like every Storgaard & Vestskov loudspeaker, it’s crafted entirely in-house, ensuring uncompromising quality and performance. Just as motorsport demands precision engineering, so does the art of true high-fidelity sound.

More Than a Coincidence—A Tribute
It only makes sense to reveal this limited edition at Audio Show Deluxe, just a stone’s throw from the Silverstone Circuit—the home of British racing. It’s a nod to the legacy of British motorsport and the pursuit of excellence.
For those who appreciate both the thrill of the track and the beauty of exceptional sound, this is more than a speaker—it’s a statement, designed for Those Who Demand the Extraordinary.
Strap in for Sound that Matters.

Storgaard & Vestskov Frida
We hope to at least see it in person in Munich at High End 2025 in just a few months. Needless to say, Frida is an almost full-range speaker—a bookshelf speaker that defies expectations. It´s dynamic, highly resolved, and very evenly balanced throughout the frequency spectrum, covering frequencies from 30 Hz to 38 kHz with a flat frequency response.
The crossover is a 12 dB Linkwitz/Riley with incorporated T.I.M. reduction circuits 2750 Hz 12 dB per octave. The tweeter is a 38 mm ring radiator selected to reproduce overtones freely, in detail, with very high resolution, and with no tendency for intrusive resonances.
Frida uses a custom-made 5-inch woven mineral cone with excellent internal damping and extremely linear frequency response for the mid and low frequencies. The optimized center bullet reduces compression due to temperature variations in the voice coil. The lower suspension reduces sound reflection air flow noise and minimizes cavity resonance.

Our report ends here for now. Over and out.
