Topping A900 – A Flagship Amp without the Flagship Price

As promised, today I will check out Topping’s newest flagship headphone amplifier & preamplifier, the A900, which goes for $1199 US dollars and €1199, here locally. Some interesting things are going on with this amplifier, and I won’t spoil everything right from the start; however, I will reveal one thing: I have tested tons of headphone amplifiers by now, some of which were super powerful, but this guy takes the throne as the most powerful one, delivering up to 22 Watts per channel in 16 Ohms but more about that in a minute. I’ll try it with a bunch of dynamic cans, planars, and also with a couple of IEMs. Last but not least, I will also compare the preamp section with that of the D900 DAC, and let’s check it out in the usual fashion 👇
