NEW RELEASE: OASIS – Definitely Maybe 30th Anniversary. The Gallagher bickering is over.

Dear melomaniac, I do not want to scare you, but I will drop a piece of music news that will get you thinking about the passing of time. “Definitely Maybe”, Oasis’ groundbreaking album launched back in 1994 has just turned 30 years old! Also, I will drop the second shock on you: Oasis have reunited!

The freshly reunited Oasis could not be passive about this anniversary and released a special version of the album, called “Definitely Maybe – 30th Anniversary Deluxe Edition”. The new release comes in many forms: vinyl, CD, streaming, download and cassette. The LP set is comprised of 4 LPs, the CD collection is comprised of two discs, whereas the cassette version is just a single cassette.

Now, a little overwiew regarding this amazing album and why it was so huge back in the day. Well, Oasis made their shouting debut with this album, droping on us the new britpop sound and the Oasis moods that we are so familiar with as of now. But, back then, nobody knew this type of singing, and, for sure, Oasis made a blast, Definitely Maybe being the fastest selling debut album of all time, being sold in over 6.9 million copies so far.

These new versions include discarded original recording session songs from Monnow Valley Studios, outtakes from the recordings at Sawmills Studios in Cornwall and new mixes by Noel Gallagher and Callum Marinho. Also, the artist who designed the original cover, Brian Cannon, come up with new artwork that you can see on the new media.

I will definitely recommend you to listen to this great new rendition of the album, a gem for the Oasis fans, and, moreover, the new discs are freshly remastered, however don’t get your hopes up, the new remaster will not do wonders for the poor 90s sound. Moreover, I am still trying to decide if I do prefer the original master instead of the new one. But, leaving mastering and 90s sound aside, the Gallagher brothers form a legend together, their bickering seems to have reached peace, so, for us Oasis fans this reunion is a blast and going further the brothers will launch new music and tour the world, that’s something isnt it?
