Topping G5 DAC/Amp Review – Linearity KING

Roughly a year ago, we tested a Topping NX7 portable headphone amp which we raved & complained about. While it functioned well as a headphone amp, we lamented its lack of versatility, as it required an external DAC or USB dongle for optimal results. This limitation made it impractical to carry three devices, filling up valuable pocket space. We hoped Topping would use our constructive feedback as fuel, developing a portable DAC/amp combo that would address our concerns, and sure enough, a year later they came back with a bang, releasing a G5 pocket rocket that costs a reasonable $299. In this video review, we’ll dive in and explore its capabilities in the usual fashion.
