Yamaha unveiled their newest 8K and HDMI 2.1 capable receivers.

Yamaha just unveiled their newest receivers capable of 8K via HDMI 2.1. Be it PlayStation 5 or XBOX Series X, you will be needing a new receiver that can accept such signals. Two models are being revealed at affordable prices.

RX-V6A is their flagship receiver capable of driving 7 channels and a passive sub-woofer. It goes for £650 in the UK and $600 in the USA.

TX-V4A will be limited to 5.1 channels and it will cost you only £450 / $440.

Both units are supporting 8K 60Hz, HDMI 2.1, HDR10+, Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM), Variable Refresh Rates (VRR), Quick Frame Transport (QFT) and also Quick Media Switching (QMS).

Both units are WI-Fi enabled and can be controlled via Alexa, Siri and Google enabled devices. They support Spotify Connect, AirPlay 2 and their own MusicCast multi-room technology.

At a later date, Yamaha will be offering a firmware update for the V6A to support 4K 120 HZ and Dolby Atmos Height Virtualization.
